I’ve read 100’s of credit reports and helped 100’s of clients strategically raise their scores and destroy debt.
I love doing the work I do because I know most people live in fear of credit and don’t know how to WIN with money which is so not cool.
I get joy seeing a client move from debt and regret to power and prosperity in their finances.
With today’s Power Play we are going after the low hanging fruit.
Let’s roll the tape back a little to Day 15, Remove the Negative.
If you have smaller collection items on your report, going after those smaller amounts aka low hanging fruit can give you a boost in your credit score and a boost in your credit confidence without a large investment.
Let’s say you have several collection items, tackling the smaller actively reporting credit items can get your score moving in a positive direction. In this case, the credit bureau is not factoring in the amount of the collection in determining your score. It's factoring in whether it was PAID.
I've seen a client pay-off $50 collections and get a 25 point boost in score.
So if you have several items but a limited amount of funds go after your Low Hanging Fruit
Final note: In terms of increasing your score the best case scenario is if the credit agrees to remove the item once paid. But either way you've now taken a negative situation made it positive and put one more piece of your financial past behind you.
